UG2 is in pursuit of a Manager of Energy, Sustainability, and Commissioning who will partner closely with our Operations, Technical Solutions, and Sustainability teams.
This strategic role is instrumental in enhancing UG2's commitment to reducing carbon footprints and achieving our clients' energy, water, and sustainability objectives within their campus plans across the nation.
The incumbent will be pivotal in leading the utility data analysis, energy / water project initiatives, and operational best practices.
This role is tasked with the management of real-time continuous commissioning systems, their upgrades, expansion to new buildings, comprehensive reporting, and delivering quarterly presentations.
Additionally, the role encompasses the support of sustainable building projects and updates to sustainability planning. The position reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Operations and Maintenance and has a secondary reporting line to the Director of Technical Solutions and Transitions.
Job Responsibilities :
- Assist in identifying and analyzing energy and water conservation measures, renewable energy projects, and operational best practices.
- Collaborate with facilities teams and external consultants to research and evaluate opportunities for improvement in building systems, controls, and metering.
- Support the development of project proposals, calculate ROI, and participate in budget analysis.
- Coordinate with BAS technicians to ensure successful project commissioning and optimization.
- Assist in delivering reports on energy projects, best practices, and incentives.
- Support real-time continuous commissioning programs and assist with metering masterplans.
- Collaborate with maintenance staff to ensure systems are functioning efficiently.
- Analyze energy and water usage data to contribute to sustainability goals.
- Assist in sustainable construction efforts and review technical drawings for MEP sustainability compliance.
- Contribute to UG2's Sustainability Plan updates and participate in climate resiliency initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Facilities Engineering, or related field.
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in energy efficiency within commercial or industrial buildings.
- Proficiency in building automation systems, energy management software, and various presentation tools.
- Experience with sustainable construction and project management.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications :
Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Energy Manager (CEM), and / or LEED accreditation are highly desirable.
Working Conditions and / or Physical Requirements :
- On-site office setting. This role will additionally require presence in a facilities environment, which includes exposure to loud noises, temperature changes, and potential hazardous materials.
- The candidate must be able to perform physically demanding tasks, including but not limited to climbing ladders and working in confined spaces while adhering to safety protocols.
