SQL Database Engineer

Duration : Perm - Direct Hire

Job Summary

SQL Developers design and implement tailored configurations to the product to meet the business needs of specific customers.

They work with customer-facing Implementation team members to understand business requirements and create sustainable solutions that address these needs.

They also maintain existing configurations and troubleshoot problems when necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Collaborate with other members of the professional services team to ensure great, maintainable solutions to customer needs
• Develop technical designs that meet complex requirements as well as being scalable, performant, secure, reliable, maintainable, and user-friendly
• Effectively communicate designs to technical stakeholders
• Implement high quality technical solutions to meet requirements or resolve configuration defects on customer instances
• Support upgrades of the product, reconfiguring where necessary to deliver the same customer outcomes
• Investigate and troubleshoot customer support issues
• Follow the Development processes, including but not limited to :
• Scrum rituals (huddles, sprint planning, retrospective, demo, grooming)
• Code standards
• Technical documentation
• Support continuous improvement and high technical standards by participating in design and code reviews and other best practices
• Help develop project plans and deliver releases on time by identifying necessary tasks and dependencies, estimating timelines, and completing milestones in alignment with project plan
• Identify and implement technology and process improvements that improve the product or development process
• Clearly and professionally communicate status, risks, impediments, recommendations, and concerns

Requirements and Qualifications

• 3+ years of software development experience
• Sharp Thinker, "Think on their feet"
• Curious in nature and Student mentality
• 3+ years experience with (STRONG) relational database development (SQL)
• 3+ years experience with Scripting or other process development
• Experience developing for Integrations
• Strong software development skills and the knowledge and ability to overcome technical challenges
• Knowledge of best practices for software engineering and Agile software development life cycles, including coding standards, code reviews, design patterns, testing, etc.
• Excellent communication skills and willingness to work closely with other members of the PSO, development, and product teams to drive resolution of problems
• Demonstrate initiative, strong work ethic, and accountability
• Demonstrate planning, organization, and time management
• Demonstrate accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail
• Self-motivated, proactive, results-oriented professional with ability to work independently within a large team
• Ideally for this role, candidate will demonstrate experience with : Qlik Development
• Customer-specific implementation development that has successfully gone live with customers, ideally for highly available SaaS applications
• Engaging with customer-facing teams to develop requirements and designs that address market needs
• Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, including remote troubleshooting and support
• Finance in a business context
• Managing large data volumes, both for processing and display
• ServiceNow Administration or Development
