The Pathology Pre-Reader I is an entry-level position within the pathology pre-reading program responsible for the initial review of digitized pathology slides before they are assessed by a pathologist.
This role plays a crucial part in maintaining quality control and ensuring that slides are reviewed according to the required / established standards.
The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in pathology and an eye for detail, with strong organizational skills to manage high volumes of slides.
Job Responsibilities :
- Assist in the organization of digital pathology slides for review.
- Conduct a basic visual assessment of slides to conduct the initial review, identify potential issues or discrepancies (e.
g., blurry scans, improper staining), and communicate findings effectively with the Pathology Team.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of slide reviews, ensuring that all data is correctly logged into the laboratory information management system (LIMS).
- Follow established protocols and procedures for slide handling and pre-reading tasks.
- Ensure proper digital image organization after pre-reading is completed.
- Communicate with senior pre-readers or pathologists if any abnormalities or errors are observed.
- Collaborate with other functions as needed.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience :
- Basic understanding of histology or pathology is preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle repetitive tasks with accuracy.
- Familiarity with digital tools and basic data entry.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Education, Certification & Licensures :
Bachelor's degree in biology, biomedical sciences, or a related field required.
Other :
- Combination of seated and standing work to complete the core functions of the role.
- Adherence to company safety policy.
- Ability to work onsite at the Company's Scottsdale, AZ headquarters approximately five (5) days a week. Hybrid work may be available after completion of training.
