Core Functions :
- Fills and label bags according to physicians’ / computer generated label.
- Initiates deliveries of all medications and IV’s as needed.
- Accurately stock DEA Controlled Substances and non-controlled medications into Omnicell dispensing machines
- Routinely assist the pharmacist in the admixture of IV piggybacks, large volume solutions and irrigations
- Assist customers in person and / or by phone and refers inquiries to the pharmacist.
- Maintains pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock
- Organizes medications and coordinates with pharmacist(s) for patient consultation
- Ensures medication availability by delivering medications to patients or departments
- Maintains records by recording and filing physicians' orders and prescriptions

Background / Expertise :
- High school graduate, equivalent or equal-related experience.
- Prior Pharmacy experience with extensive customer interaction preferred.
- Current Oregon Board of Pharmacy Technician License required.
- National Certification required through the NHA (National Healthcareer Association) or PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) within (1) year from date of hire.
- Must have legible handwriting.
- Must be able to accurately type 30 wpm.
- Must be capable of medium work, including some lifting, bending and stooping; must be able to walk extended distances, use the stairs and remain standing for prolonged time periods.
