Work Schedule :
University Hospital is currently recruiting for full-time, 40 hours per week positions. There are day and evening shifts available.
All positions do require a weekend and holiday rotation. On-call is optional. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.
Pay :
External hires may be eligible for up to a $2,500 sign on bonus.

We are seeking a Specimen Control and Receiving Tech to :
- Receive specimens and research kits into the laboratory, check for correct labeling, enter tests into Laboratory Information System, process specimens, and load them onto instruments or direct to appropriate work station, technologist, or storage area.
- Basic instrument maintenance (temperatures, monitoring reagents) and clerical duties (filing, mailing, faxing).
- Interact daily with pathologists, physicians, technologists, clinical staff, nursing unit personnel, and patients.
Education :
Minimum High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Some post-secondary education in a healthcare or a related science field that may include course work in Medical Laboratory Technician, Cytotechnologist, Histotechnician or Medical Laboratory Scientist degree / certification.
Work Experience :
Minimum Six months experience in lab, healthcare, customer service or data entry role
Preferred One-year healthcare or lab related work experience
Licenses and Certifications :
Preferred Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) certification (American Society for Clinical Pathology) or equivalent
