The OBE VP of Sales supporting the Midwest leads key sales functions to ensure that the customer support, plant leadership, sales and account management, and sales support teams all work together effectively to drive sales force productivity.
The oversight for this position spans across multiple manufacturing plants, products, and organizations to ensure OBE is leveraging all assets to win and achieve market leadership.
This leadership role is highly collaborative with a focus on fostering efficient coordination. They direct planning activities with other business functions and stakeholders across the region manufacturing plants and sales organizations.
The VP of Sales also takes initiative in building peer support and strong internal business relationships with key leadership to enhance sales efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand, emulate, and drive the OBE vision, strategy and Commercial Excellence framework within daily and strategic business activities
- Create strong relationships with key stakeholders at both senior and mid-management levels across multiple plants and organizations
- Work closely with colleagues on cross-region and business opportunities
- Understand the competitive landscape and market trends
- Understand and effectively communicate the company's value proposition of the OBE entities
- Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for region
- Maintain sales volume, product mix and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors
- Maintain sales staff by recruiting, selecting, and onboarding employees
- Develop a high-performing team through effective goal-setting, evaluation, training, feedback, and coaching
- Work with the Sales Managers, Sales Reps, Plant GMs, Operations and other critical functional teams to implement targeted sales strategies
- Partner with internal teams on behalf of clients to ensure the highest level of customer service
- Interface with technical support internally to resolve issues that directly impact partners
- Work collaboratively with the sales and marketing teams and foster a culture of continuous process improvement
- Ensure reports and other internal intelligence and insight is provided to the sales and marketing organization
- Analyze Sales Cloud CRM pipeline and MicroStrategy analytics, deliver periodic reporting to the sales and marketing teams providing key business insights.
Typical reporting relates to Demand Generation, Pipeline Forecast and Trends, Conversion Rates, Target Account, Market Segmentation, Win / Loss, etc.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities needed for Success
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Finance, Engineering, Marketing or a related field plus a minimum of 5+ years of progressive management experience in business, finance, sales and / or operations
- Experience in building products and manufacturing; Building Façade / Curtain Wall Projects and glass or construction industry is a plus
- Must be able to effectively build relationships and interact with customers, suppliers, distributors and all other commercial contacts
- Travel requirements 40%+
- Must be an effective communicator with logical, organized verbal and written communication, and presentation skills. Strong interpersonal skills
- Requires strong analytical, organizational and leadership skills
- Microsoft Office 360, SAP, CRM and business analytics working knowledge
