Description
Bollinger Motors is seeking a Compliance & Certification Engineer who is a highly motivated individual to contribute to the company's safety, compliance, and certification efforts.
This position reports to the Compliance & Certification Manager. This is a full-time, in-person position located at the company's Oak Park, MI headquarters.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Review Bollinger vehicles to identify relevant safety standards, compliance, and certification requirements to meet start-of-production timing objectives.
- Assist in developing test and compliance certification plans covering hardware and software at component, system, and vehicle levels.
- Coordinate with engineering, program, testing, and other relevant Bollinger teams to develop and execute test plans, certification activities, related data collection, reporting, and document retention.
- Prepare and generate necessary technical documentation as well as submission of documentation to approval authorities.
- Communicate with regulatory agencies and others regarding safety and compliance certification of Bollinger vehicles.
- Attend and support plant audits, compliance tests, and respond to any requests from regulatory agencies.
- Assist Bollinger teams with safety, risk, and technical compliance efforts, including assisting with identification, investigation, documentation, and resolution of internal safety concerns.
- Provide technical support for potential or identified safety related defects and / or non-compliances throughout complete field fix cycle.
- Monitor safety and regulatory standards by participating in industry-related working groups and committees and educate Bollinger teams on changes and trends.
Requirements
Education, Skills and Knowledge

- Bachelor's degree in business management, Engineering, Public Policy, or related analytical / technical fields is preferred.
- 5+ years' professional experience in automotive homologation, certification, and regulatory compliance.
- Prior experience at an automotive OEM.
- Experience in communicating directly with regulatory agencies like NHTSA, EPA, and CARB is preferred.
- Experience in interpretation of FMVSS, CMVSS, UNECE, EPA, and CARB requirements.
- Strong project management skills and ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments in adherence to tight deadlines.
