Your role as a Property Management Specialist

In this role, you will manage a diverse portfolio of housing properties, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

From overseeing Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) properties to collaborating with Permanent Supportive Housing programs, you will play a vital role in maintaining the financial and operational integrity of our agency-managed housing.

Reporting to the Director of Property and Resource Development, you will enforce lease provisions, conduct tenant interviews, and calculate rent amounts accurately.

As a key liaison with tenants, service providers, and agency staff, your excellent communication skills will be essential in ensuring the smooth operations of our housing programs.

Would you be a great Property Management Specialist?

To excel as a Property Management Specialist at Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board, you must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Urban Development, or a related field, coupled with three years of housing experience.

Alternatively, seven or more years of housing and property / asset management experience, specifically with Housing Choice Vouchers, Assisted Housing Management, and / or Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, are also qualifying .

Candidates with a Property Management Certification or HCCP Certification are preferred for this role. A valid Virginia driver's license is essential for property visits and other job-related tasks.

Success in this position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders, and a commitment to upholding federal and state regulations in the management of housing properties.
