Salary Range : $37.3800 - $57.4600 / hour. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, skill level, and education.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The Reg Polysom Tech Sleep Educator works under the general supervision of the Clinical Director (MD, DO) or designee to coordinate care for patients with sleep disorders.
This includes in-lab and home testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care, and direct patient education.
The role requires a detailed understanding of sleep technology and disease processes affecting both sleep and wakefulness.
The educator is credentialed in sleep technology and plays a critical role in the interdisciplinary care team, working to improve patient outcomes and ensure high-quality care delivery.
Key responsibilities include :
- Data collection, outcome analysis, and routine reporting in compliance with AASM guidelines.
- Timely delivery of study results to patients
- Coordination of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) for patient therapy.
- Routine presentation of the sleep center’s progress to appropriate staff and leadership teams.
- Participation in diagnostic and therapeutic sleep testing, home therapy management, and compliance oversight.
- Direct patient education and management, ensuring that patients understand their treatment plans and the impact of their sleep disorders.
- Regular interaction with physicians and healthcare providers to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Management and organization of patient data, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting of outcomes.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the comprehensive care of sleep disorder patients.
Education and Experience
- Graduate from a CAAHEP Polysomnographic accredited program, The A-STEP program, or have completed one of the 5 Pathways to Registration as defined by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists required.
- Registry eligible required.
- Required to maintain 50 CEU’s every 5 years.
- Experience with Nihon Khoden diagnostic system preferred.
Licenses Required
- Certification in Clinical Sleep Health (CCSH) - BRPT-Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologist must be obtained within 6 months
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist California
Certifications Required
- BLS Basic Life Support (AHA)
- RPSGT - Registered Polysomnographic Technologist - BRPT-Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologist
