Responsibilities
Responsible for executing production schedule and hourly monitoring of performance to production schedule including reaction plans when goals are not met.
Identify and correct shortages in material, tools and equipment, and labor, escalating as necessary. Monitor material and labor postings for production orders to ensure correct costing within ERP system and to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Utilizing Lean methods, monitor and continuously improve workshop efficiency, effectiveness, and safety performance regarding all aspects of the remanufacturing and inbound core receiving processes.
- Supervise, conduct performance reviews, and maintain training records and development plans for direct reports. Implements & enforces ZF policies regarding safety and personnel.
- Ensure workshop works within the quality guidelines of IATF. Create and maintain departmental reports and work instructions within the Vernon Hills Business Management System.
Responsible for communication of changes in work instructions to direct reports. Maintain specifications and certifications as dictated by the business.
- Work with Quality, Sales and Customer Service to ensure all customer requirements are met.
- Serves as backup for Production Unit Manager.
- Flexible availability to provide supervision for adjacent shifts.
- Support the behavior safety monitoring / coaching system process by serving as an observation coach, or data entry administrator or a behavior system coach / trainer.
Specifics of this task assignment will be finalized through discussions with your immediate manager and the site EHS leadership.

Essential Skills and Experience :
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- 3+ years’ experience in a production remanufacturing or logistics operation.
- Strong background in utilizing ERP systems (SAP Preferred) and Quality standards.
Preferred Skills and experience :
- College Degree Preferred.
- Strong background in driving change throughout the organization.
- Strong interpersonal, problem solving, and computer software skills required.
- 5S and lean manufacturing experience.
Reporting to Position : Reports to Production Unit Manager has direct reports.

Work Environment : While performing the duties of the job, the associate is exposed to a remanufacturing floor atmosphere with some office exposure.
