Summary
The Axcient Sales Engineer is a self-motivated contributor assisting the sales organization throughout the sales process.
As a Sales Engineer, you will act as a mentor and guide to our Sales team, building an educational foundation for key technical areas of Axcient solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform product demos of the various Axcient solutions, including :
- Assessing and documenting prospect environments
- Validating the technical win’ on the solution
- Conducting pre-sales trial setups with prospects
- Recommending appropriate hardware and software for client environments
- Review proposals to ensure all solution elements, software, services, and managed services are properly validated against the Project Scope of Work
- Assist in responding to RFIs / RFPs
- Convey customer feature requests and product enhancements to Development / Product Manager / Support
- Advise on deployment processes for a smooth handoff to the onboarding team
- Act as the sales team’s liaison to the Onboarding and Support teams
- Attend meetings and participate in training as necessary to keep up with sales and technical training
- Perform periodic technical training as needed
- Strategize with Sales on approach for site visits, product demos, and closing calls
- Conduct in-person and virtual demonstrations and presentations at tradeshows, Lunch and Learns, conferences, trainings, and other similar events
Who You Are
- BS in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent years of experience
- At least 2-3 years of Sales Engineering or Technical Sales experience
- Strong exposure to Backup Solutions, Disaster Recovery, and File Sync Software *Highly desired*
- Understanding of Hosted and On-Premises technologies, as well as the network layer in between
- Solid competency with architecture, design, and implementation of technical solutions
- Strong experience with Windows, MacOS, and Linux-based operating systems *required*
- Experience with network / systems administration (network and software certification a plus)
- Proven leadership skills and a desire to coach and mentor individuals in technology
- Ability to learn quickly, self-educate, and adapt in a fast-paced work environment
- Team and customer-oriented attitude
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to present information through screen share and convey information to all levels of an organization (CEO, CTO, COO)
- Flexibility to travel, on occasion, to client sites, lunch and learns, and trade shows up to 25%
- Experience and comfortability working remotely
- Competence with virtual environments and hypervisors such as VMware and Hyper-V is *required*
- Competence with IaaS environments such as AWS, Azure, and related technological knowledge and experience is *required*
The estimated salary range for this position is : from $130,000 to $150,000 annually. Actual compensation may vary and will be based on a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies.
