Senior Software/Systems Engineer

Position Summary :

LinQuest is seeking a Senior Software / Systems Engineer for an exciting opportunity to support the Air Force's deployment of the next generation Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) system, Sentinel.

This position is located at Hill AFB, Utah and requires a Secret security clearance.

You will gain experience in one of the largest government contracts while reviewing software development in every facet of today's best practices.

The ideal candidate would provide a mix of software systems engineering expertise and understanding of software development practices.

This is an exciting opportunity to support the Air Force's acquisition of the next-generation Sentinel Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) System.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a technical liaison and action officer to Program Management Office (PMO) Software Division leadership and the Chief Software Engineer.
• Support strategic planning and communications with prime contractor and external stakeholders.
• Act as software Subject Matter Expert to review and define software systems requirements, specification documents, processes, plans, guides, and reports.
• Coordinate with other teams, agencies, and stakeholders in the development and evaluation of software systems engineering requirements.
• Track and evaluate program progress by analyzing software metrics and earned value.
• Learn and apply innovative Model Based (Systems) Engineering (MBE / MBSE) approaches to Software Acquisition and Development.
• Act a leader and mentor to provide guidance to junior engineers.
• Support government initiatives towards modern software acquisition and development methodologies such as Agile and DevSecOps.

Required Skills and Experience :

• BS degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, electrical engineering, or a related degree.
• years’ related experience ( years with an MS degree) with industry or government.
• Active Secret clearance with latest re-investigation date within last years.
• Familiarity with systems engineering practices and procedures.
• Strong verbal / written communications skills and peer-to-leader presentations.
• Ability to work in a dynamic setting that includes variable workloads and shifting priorities.
• Ability to take initiative and execute tasks with limited day-to-day direction.

Preferred Skills and Experience :

• Experience with any coding or scripting language.
• Experience with software requirements development.
• Experience with Agile software metrics (, burnup / burndown, velocity, code coverage).
• Familiarity with Aerospace Software Standards (DO-C, ARINC-, ARINC-, MISRA C, or Agile / SAFe / Lean development, or DevSecOps pipelines, tools and techniques operated within a cloud-based environment.
