The Community Driver at Montage Ridge transports residents to / from offsite activities such as shopping, doctor appointments, scenic drives, or other offsite events.
The Community Driver ensures regular cleaning, maintenance, and daily inspection of community vehicles and complies with federal, state, and local standards for facility operation.
SCOPE OF JOB TASKS :
Duties include but are not limited to the following :
- Maintains unencumbered licensure to operate campus vehicles safely. Vehicles may include a car, van, or bus; with or without a wheelchair lift.
- Transport residents to doctor appointments or other personal appointments as scheduled or requested.
- Transport residents to shopping areas regularly each week.
- Transport residents on special tour outings, scenic drives, lunch or dinner, or other selected activities off campus.
- Maintain the van, bus, and or golf cart ensuring operation, safety, and cleanliness at all times.
- Responsible for keeping track of service checks for vehicles, oil changes, tune-ups, etc.
- Assist the Vitality team in reorganizing rooms before and after any activity event.
- Assist with answering phones and taking messages for other members of the Vitality staff.
- Helps residents and family members with questions, concerns, etc. (or directs them to the appropriate staff member)
- Assist personnel and residents in establishing a home-like atmosphere.
- Assists in ensuring that equipment is used and maintained as designed.
- All other duties assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATION
Education :
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid within 30 days.
- Ability to read, write, communicate, and follow written and oral instructions in the English language.
Work Experience :
- Experience in bus driving is preferred but not necessary
- Experience in auto maintenance is helpful but not required
- Familiarity with MS Office applications and email systems.
Qualifications :
- Must have a current Driver’s License. (CA requires a CDL Class A)
- Two or more years experience driving other, customer service, facility maintenance, or other related fields.
Supervision :
Needs to be self-directed and possess the ability to make decisions. Is accountable for department performance. Works closely with the Manager and other Co- Worker as well as other management personnel.

Works indoors / outdoors. Subject to hot / cold weather conditions. Interacts with the public, personnel, visitors, family members, and residents under all circumstances.
