Position Overview :
As a Hauling Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily functions of our hauling division, ensuring that activities run with efficiency, safety, and consistency.
This role requires the Hauling Operations Manager to establish clear goals for each team member and the department as a whole.
Regularly crafting, utilizing, and refining standard operating procedures is essential to meet these goals. A Hauling Operations Manager must possess strong leadership qualities, with an emphasis on coaching and mentoring to ensure the division's staff excels.
Job Requirements & Knowledge :
- Familiarity with DOT, OSHA, and other state and federal regulations.
- Understanding of local roads and highways.
- Deep insight into the trash and recycling industry.
Skills & Abilities :
- Proficiency in software tools including MS Office products, Kronos, and database software.
- Analytical abilities to organize and interpret data for optimal solutions.
- Effective dispute resolution skills.
- Knowledge of employee labor laws.
- Professional communication skills, leadership skills, particularly leading by example.
- Resilience to work under challenging conditions, including exposure to waste products and adverse weather.
- Holding a current Class A or B Commercial Driver's License with an air-brake endorsement is advantageous or the ability to obtain one within six months of the hiring date.
Experience & Education :
- At least 4 years of experience in hauling operations or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of supervisory experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training in recycling production or high-speed manufacturing is preferred.
