Title : Fire Sprinkler Engineer / PM
Location : Commerce City, CO
Salary : $75-105K + Bonus
Are you an experienced Fire Sprinkler designer looking for a growth path to Project Management? Our Project managers start in the design, and learn the operations and ultimately coordinate the project, interface with the field team, the client and ensure the project is executed according to the design and client specifications.
You will have the opportunity to work closely with subject matter experts in the area of Fire Suppression and be involved in many different types of projects in construction that range from large-scale Government & Commercial Buildings, Energy, Educational, Healthcare, Retail, Sports Facilities / Entertainment, High Rise Offices, Manufacturing, Casinos and Residential projects.
Our client is a smaller organization that will allow you to get involved with a wide variety of projects and designs.
Responsibilities
- Design water based fire suppression systems.
- Perform detailed shop drawings (field installation drawings and hydraulic calculations), field engineering functions (on the jobsite support and review), and operation planning (field installation support)
- Compile and prepare plan submittals (shop drawings) and material submittals for review by architects, engineers, clients, and authorities having jurisdiction
- Coordinate fire sprinkler design in 3D with the building structure and other MEP subcontractors
- Prepare project material stock lists to be used for material procurement
- Assist with field engineering, troubleshooting and support for the installation operations on the jobsite
- Prepare as-built drawings for in-house archive and client files.
- General understanding of job costs related to engineering, material and fabrication, and labor
Qualifications
- Associates or Mechanical degree in drafting, Engineering Technology, or related degree program, and 2+ years design / drafting in Fire Sprinkler systems.
- If no degree, must have 4+ years of experience in design / drafting of fire suppression / fire sprinkler systems.
- Experience with AutoCAD required, experience with AutoSPRINK or SprinkCAD preferred.
- NICET certification I, II or III or in the process of obtaining required.
- Experienced with MS Office Suite required.
- High level of self-discipline, motivation, and ability to operate in a team environment with strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Team player, but able to work independently
- Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative
- Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt
- Strong organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail
