ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Join our team at Hunt Electric as a Construction Scheduling Manager, where you'll lead the development of our Scheduling Department and oversee the management of project schedules.
Working closely with leadership, you'll define goals, provide guidance to schedulers, and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
With remote work flexibility and opportunities for travel, you'll play a key role in driving operational excellence and shaping the future of our scheduling processes.
- Develop and lead the Scheduling Department, with the assistance of the leadership team, outlining short and long-term goals, and planning for the development of schedulers.
- Play a hands-on role in developing schedules for specific projects during the initial phases of department development.
- Provide direction, support, and training to a team of project schedulers, overseeing their management of individual large projects and multiple projects onsite and remotely.
- Assist in the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new schedulers, managing work assignments, and forecasting scheduling needs across departments.
- Collaborate with the Business Development group to develop initial project schedules, supporting project pursuit efforts and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Lead internal pull plan sessions, coordinate with subcontractors, and ensure efficient project delivery through active participation in planning sessions and meetings.
- Develop, maintain, and communicate internal schedule models using tools like P-6, aligning them with general contractor schedules and capturing project impacts and delays.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred; or equivalent experience.
- This role will have the option to work remotely full-time, with periodic in-person meetings expected at our Bloomington, MN office (frequency to be determined, either monthly or quarterly).
- Proven experience in construction scheduling. Electrical industry knowledge preferred.
- Proficiency in scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to provide direction, support, and training to a team.
- Knowledge of construction project management principles and practices, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to lead internal pull plan sessions, coordinate with subcontractors, and drive operational excellence in project delivery.
- Experience in developing, maintaining, and communicating internal schedule models, with a strong understanding of general contractor schedules and the ability to capture and mitigate project impacts and delays.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster relationships with team members across projects and collaborate effectively both internally and externally.
- Familiarity with Lean methodologies and principles.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- This position will occasionally operate at an industrial job site and is exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibration, and noise, possibly requiring closed-toed shoes, as well as occasional use of a hard hat and eye protection.
- This job also operates in a professional construction office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets, photocopiers and fax machines.
- Employees are frequently required to sit, and occasionally required to kneel, reach, stoop, crouch or crawl.
- This position requires the ability to lift files, open file cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary.
- This position may occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
