We are looking for an engaged, proactive, team-oriented Contracts Director who can lead the Mission Connections and Cybersecurity business unit contracting function.

Reporting to the V.P. of Contracts, you will represent the company to government and private customers. Your support will involve creating a variety of contracts and strategic agreements for both products and services.

You will be working with US and commercial companies and empowered to propose, prepare, and negotiate contracts and partner agreements.

The day-to-day

You will supervise a team of contracting professionals, lead cross-functional teams in negotiations and exercise independent judgment in handling all phases of contract execution and customer interaction.

The ability to identify and articulate key deal points, conduct risk assessment and mitigation, and exercise excellent business judgement is necessary.

You will effectively communicate with various levels of internal management on contractual issues and offerings in order to develop and coordinate business positions and contractual terms.

The ideal candidate will be a fast learner, have experience in creatively solving unique problems for improved results, and is a self-starter with the ability to work within broad guidelines.

You should have depth of knowledge in government contracting regulations, practices and developing business models.

What you'll need

  • Dynamic government contracts experience and accomplishments including the creation of contracts, proposals and agreements.
  • Ability to develop and apply solutions to complex problems requiring a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and innovation.
  • Advanced understanding of DoD acquisition policy.
  • Skilled communicator with strong written and verbal skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and administer various responsibilities with internal and external customers while meeting deadlines in a professional and organized manner.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Willingness and ability to secure a U.S. Government security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field or equivalent..
  • Travel up to 20 percent.

Salary range

$202,800.00 - $365,400.00 / annually

At Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience.

Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional cash or stock incentives may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a range of medical, financial, and / or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
