The anticipated salary range for this role is between $158,000.00and $198,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire.

Role Description
The Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) Architect will be part of the IAM Architecture and Engineering function within SMBC.
The Architect will be responsible for architecting the CIAM solutions that manage the digital identity and access of customers in an organization.
The ideal person must be experienced in architecting CIAM projects using platform like ForgeRock / Ping, Okta / Auth0, Azure B2C.
Role Objectives
- The Architect / Engineer will develop / maintain the overall CIAM architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives, security requirements, and industry best practices
- Design scalable, highly available and secure CIAM solutions, including authentication, authorization, identity verification, identity lifecycle management and access governance
- Research and evaluate CIAM platforms, tools, and technologies that meet the organization's needs
- Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to keep the CIAM architecture up to date.
- Lead efforts to continuously improve the performance, scalability, and security of the CIAM solutions
- Provide guidance and mentorship to other team members on CIAM best practices and emerging technologies.
- Create good documentation for all work
- Provide guidance and documentation for the development teams to embed CIAM services in customer applications, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance
- Champion the developed IAM solutions and ensure compliance with all applicable SMBC policies and relevant data protection regulations, such as GDPR, CCPA, and other applicable standards.
Qualifications and Skills
- 5+ years of experience in identity and access management, with a focus on CIAM
- Strong understanding of identity management protocols (OAuth OpenID Connect, SAML etc)
- Experience with CIAM platforms (e.g. Forgerock / Ping, Okta / Auth0, Microsoft Entra B2C / External ID)
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical environments and develop effective solutions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and influence stakeholders
- High attention to detail and self-driven
- Familiarity with API management and integration
Education / Certification
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Certification - CISSP, cloud or other Security related
