Wiese USA has an immediate opening for a Benefits Specialist based out of our corporate office in Olivette, MO. As the Benefits Specialist, you are responsible for the day-to-day administration of the company’s employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, wellness programs, and other related benefits.
This role involves ensuring compliance with applicable laws, providing support to employees, and coordinating with benefit plan vendors to provide comprehensive benefits packages.
A typical day includes :
Benefits Administration : Manage and administer employee benefit programs such as health, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement plans.
Coordinate and oversee annual open enrollment periods and other benefits-related activities. Process new hire benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations in a timely and accurate manner.
Employee Support : Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits-related inquiries and issues. Educate employees on available benefits options and assist them in making informed decisions.
Conduct benefits orientations for new employees.
Compliance and Reporting : Ensure benefits programs comply with federal and state regulations, such as ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, and ACA.
Prepare and submit required reports to government agencies and other regulatory bodies. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of employee benefits enrollment and changes.
Vendor Management : Work with external vendors and insurance carriers to resolve issues and ensure the delivery of quality services.
Negotiate contract terms and pricing with benefit providers. Monitor vendor performance and ensure compliance with service agreements.
Plan Design and Implementation : Assist in the design and implementation of new benefits programs and policies. Conduct market research and analysis to evaluate the competitiveness of current benefits offerings.
Recommend improvements to existing benefits plans to enhance employee satisfaction and retention.
Communication and Education : Develop and distribute communication materials to inform employees about benefits programs and changes.
Conduct training sessions and workshops on benefits topics. Create and maintain benefits information on the company intranet or benefits portal.
