  • Position Summary :
  • We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Desktop Support Technician to join our hospital-based IT team. This role is essential in providing hands-on technical support across various departments, including high-pressure environments such as the Emergency Department and surgical areas. The ideal candidate will have basic IT knowledge, strong communication skills, and a commitment to delivering excellent service to both staff and patients.
  • Key Responsibilities :
  • Ticket Management & Escalation :
  • Respond promptly to escalated hardware and software support tickets from the outsourced Help Desk.
  • Document resolutions and maintain accurate records of support activities.
  • On-Site Technical Support :
  • Provide hands-on support for desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to proprietary healthcare applications (training provided).
  • Support clinical and administrative staff in high-demand areas such as the Emergency Department and surgical suites.
  • Customer Service :
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while interacting with hospital staff and patients.
  • Communicate technical solutions clearly and respectfully to non-technical users.
  • Device Setup & Maintenance :
  • Assist with the setup, configuration, and deployment of new hardware and software.
  • Maintain and support peripheral devices including printers and scanners.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications :
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented, and high-pressure environment.
  • Demonstrated honesty, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
  • Basic understanding of Windows 10 / 11 and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Teams and remote support tools.
  • Healthcare IT experience is a plus.
  • A+ Certification is preferred but not required.
  • Work Environment :
  • On-site support in a hospital setting.
  • May require walking between departments and occasional lifting of equipment (up to 25 lbs).
  • Exposure to clinical environments and sensitive patient areas.
  • Pay and Benefits
  • The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00 / hr.
