Reports to : Director, Community Engagement

Work Location : Oakland Campus 675 23rd Street Oakland, CA 94612

Hours : Tuesday-Saturday 8 : 30 a.m.- 5 p.m.

Status : Non-Exempt

Salary : $22-$24 per hour

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

Administrative Support :

  • Assist with administrative tasks related to fundraising and donor management.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records and databases.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, and presentations as needed.
  • Enter data into the fundraising database.
  • Prepare and send correspondence to donors.
  • Update information regarding gifts on a frequent basis.
  • Assist co-workers in preparing furniture invoices for conferences.
  • Reconcile gift information monthly with data from the accounting department.
  • Be point person for receiving, delivering and storing in-kind donations.
  • Be point person for 23rd Street gate opening / closing (answering the door)

Fundraising Support :

  • Assist in organizing and coordinating fundraising events, campaigns, and appeals.
  • Help in researching and identifying potential donors and funding opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the development team to implement fundraising strategies.

Communication and Outreach :

  • Support efforts to engage and steward donors through regular communication and updates.
  • Assist and serve as back-up for maintaining the organization’s website and social media presence.

Grant Management :

  • Assist in researching grant opportunities.
  • Help in compiling necessary documentation and reports for grant applications and compliance.

Collaboration :

  • Work closely with other departments and team members to support overall organizational goals.
  • Participate in meetings and contribute to strategic planning related to development efforts.

SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Previous experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, or related fields is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with donor databases (experience with donor databases is a plus).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS :

Bachelor’s degree in a related field (such as nonprofit management, communications, or business) preferred.
