Mechanical Design Engineer

Design Engineer (Contract to Direct or Direct Hire)

Location : Copiague, NY

Salary : $110,000 - $145,000 depending upon experience

The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical systems and devices for boilers, heat exchangers and pressure vessels

Responsibilities

• Utilize CAD software for design
• Conduct simulations using tools to evaluate the performance of mechanical systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success
• Contribute to the development of innovative mechanical solutions
• Review current designs and components prior to daily release to production
• Generate drawings and submittals.
• Coordinating with shop foreman, sales team, QC manager and other parties involved in the whole process.
• Preparing and maintaining the record of manufacturer s data reports.
• Reviewing material test reports for the items received at the factory.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor s degree in Engineering or related field experience
• Proficiency in mechanical design and analysis, 5-10 years of experience
• Knowledge of ASME codes (Part 1, 4 and 8) mechanical engineering principles
• Experience in AutoCAD .
• Experience in understanding using formulas to calculate, when required, to comply with local and ASME codes and regulations for pressure vessels and tanks.
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
