Sr Systems Programmer
Are you looking for the next step in your systems programming career? American National is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Programmer to help manage infrastructure software and systems of our mainframe and min-range computing platforms.
You would be responsible for assisting in the oversight of organizing, planning, configuring, and the installation of all computing infrastructure components.
What You'll Do
- Provide senior technical oversight for all computing systems and software configurations
- Assist in the creation of technical controls, practices, and processes to ensure that operating systems and their attendant third-party software components are compatible and are at supported versions across the enterprise.
- Provide senior technical leadership and consulting services to ensure adequate training and support services are available for application programming and computer operations personnel.
- Ensure that adequate technical controls are in place for monitoring system performance and availability and recommend necessary changes to systems parameters affecting performance and availability.
- Assist in providing coordination and planning to ensure that training and mentoring for other members of the group is consistent with changing technologies and the introduction of new infrastructure software.
What You'll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in the Information Technology field or equivalent experience
- A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in the Information Technology field, with five (5) of these directly related to Systems Programming responsibilities
- Specialization in z / OS MVS / VM operating system software and / or one or more subsystems or business applications, such as CICS, DB2, IMS, RACF, SMP / E, JES2, z / OS Communications Server, ASG ZEKE, BMC MAINVIEW, DFSMS (OAM, DFP)
- Be able to participate in an on-call 24-hour weekly rotation to respond to problems
Salary for this position can range from $99684.00 for candidates who are minimally qualified through $149506.50 for more highly qualified candidates.
