Job Description :

As a Junior Sous Chef, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the culinary operations of our kitchen. Working closely with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef, you'll assist in overseeing the day-to-day activities, ensuring seamless execution of menu items, and maintaining the highest standards of food quality and presentation.

This is an excellent opportunity for a talented and ambitious culinary professional to further develop their skills and contribute to the success of a renowned restaurant.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Assist in Kitchen Operations : Work alongside the Head Chef and Sous Chef to coordinate kitchen activities, including preparation, cooking, and plating of dishes to meet guest expectations and service standards.
  • Menu Development and Execution : Contribute ideas and assist in the creation of new menu items, ensuring they are innovative, flavorful, and aligned with our culinary vision.

Execute menu items with precision and consistency.

  • Team Leadership : Lead by example and motivate kitchen staff to maintain high levels of productivity and morale. Provide guidance and support to junior kitchen team members, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Quality Control : Conduct regular inspections of food products to ensure freshness, proper storage, and adherence to food safety standards.

Monitor food temperatures during preparation and service to uphold food quality and safety.

Inventory Management : Assist in managing inventory levels and ordering supplies as needed to minimize waste and ensure efficient kitchen operations.

Maintain accurate records of inventory, including ingredient usage and stock rotation.

Training and Development : Participate in the training and development of kitchen staff, providing coaching and feedback to help them improve their skills and performance.

Share knowledge and techniques to enhance team capabilities.

Adherence to Health and Safety Regulations : Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, always following sanitation protocols and safety procedures.

Ensure compliance with health codes and regulations.

Qualifications :

  • Proven experience working in a professional kitchen environment, preferably in a high-volume restaurant.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent certification from a recognized culinary institution is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, ingredients, and flavor profiles.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Team player with strong leadership abilities and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
