Senior Director, Talent Acquisition

Role Summary

The newly created position of Senior Director, Talent Acquisition (TA), provides an excellent career opportunity for an experienced Talent Acquisition Leader to continue Glanbia TA’s evolution and help shape our transformation.

The role will bring expertise and best practice in this area and will be commercially focused, entrepreneurial, forward-thinking and a data-driven leader.

The role holder will have a passion for recruiting top talent, delivering a high performing team, be highly motivated to deliver a high level of operational effectiveness and efficiency in service delivery while also ensuring continuous improvement and simplification wherever possible.

The role will play a critical role in defining, designing, improving, and scaling our best practices, recruiting processes, tools, and capabilities globally as well as ensuring a clear, consistent, and authentic employer brand that resonates with our People and the external talent marketplace.

The Senior Director of TA will have specific responsibility for partnering with BU CPOs, Group CHRO and BU Executives on BU Executive Leadership Team hiring needs.

The role will also partner across markets and business segments on resourcing and talent pipelining requirements and work closely with the other respective COE’s to optimise impact.

This role will also have direct responsibility for the Talent Acquisition team which is responsible for all recruitment needs enterprise wide across both a salaried and hourly workforce.

This also includes responsibility for the ongoing management of a third party RPO and other TA vendor partnerships.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and execute a holistic talent acquisition strategy informed by business growth and operational needs, succession planning / talent process outcomes which delivers against business needs and utilises the right KPI’s as well as metrics to deliver.
  • Oversee and lead executive recruitment for Glanbia. Partners with our executive leadership teams on all Executive Search processes for key senior hires as appropriate and delivers a pipeline of external top talent to support the recruitment of key leadership hires.

This can be through direct sourcing or through external partners.

  • Co-creates, with BU CPO’s and Operations Leaders, a strategic talent acquisition action plan for hourly and temp hiring that meets the critical and time bound resourcing needs of our manufacturing facilities in North America and other key locations.
  • Lead the ongoing management of third party RPO ensuring effective delivery of service in line with agreed service delivery KPI’s and budget.
  • Lead and develop the TA team driving a high performing team culture. Develops the TA team so that innovative sourcing methods and strategies are being used to grow proactive talent pipelines and drive direct sourcing.
  • Lead talent acquisition program and strategy for Early Careers hiring (Graduate / Interns), partnering with TA team in PSO on operational execution.
  • Acts as Global Process Owner , technology platform business owner and Knowledge Management Lead for TA globally. Lead continuous learning, process improvement and simplification efforts , while ensuring compliance and appropriate governance across all TA teams, from Early Career to Hourly Recruitment to Executive hiring.
  • Creates a metrics focused TA organization that drives accountability and keeps the team focused on creating a world-class candidate and hiring manager experience and commercial benefits case.

Uses data to garner insights and understand business needs and adjust TA plans as needed.

  • Measure and evaluate effectiveness and impact of strategies, solutions, and processes to ensure fit for purpose and continuous improvement.
  • Define employer branding, talent attraction and talent sourcing strategy to drive growth through internal and external hiring, rooted in deep knowledge of the business and leveraging leading practices and market trends.
  • Optimizes partnerships with external partners , e.g., LinkedIn, search agencies, recruitment marketing contracts.

People Leadership

  • Drive a high-performance culture underpinned by a focus on strong TA capability, delivering results, operational excellence and winning together.
  • Recognize and celebrate success within the CoE and broader HR teams.
  • Engage and develop team fostering career progression and capability building for the future. Promote the importance of continuous learning and improvement, as well as collaboration and sharing knowledge and ideas freely.
  • Role model the Glanbia values and hold self and others across Glanbia accountable for demonstrating the behaviors that underpin those values.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant business / HR qualification, educated to at least Undergraduate degree level with relevant post-graduate qualification desirable.
  • Prior CPG recruitment experience a plus.
  • Global TA COE leadership experience or experience spearheading global, complex TA / Talent-wide initiatives at a large, global company with a diversified portfolio and manufacturing footprint.
  • Strong track record of recruiting and pipeline senior leadership roles the result in successful hires that deliver significant impact in the business.
  • Ability to design and deliver effective TA strategies, processes and programs focused on maximizing TA impact in the business striving to always meets or exceeds internal customer expectations.
  • Prior experience managing third party RPO’s preferred.
  • Team leadership experience and track record of attracting and developing talent.
  • Passion for continuous improvement, simplification, innovation, and stakeholder experience.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to develop compelling strategy plans and roadmaps for the future.
  • Successful track record in complex project management, change management, reporting and prioritization.
  • Experience in defining and building employer brands and running successful talent acquisition campaigns.
  • Intellectual curiosity and motivation to uncover trends and patterns and apply best practices, both internal and from global enterprises known for strong TA functions.
  • Data-driven decision-making and metrics-oriented mindset.

Location : Chicago, Illinois preference or Dublin, Ireland
