ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Administer company / plant human resource policies, procedures, programs, and work rules to help ensure positive employee relations.
- Work directly with department managers to confidently investigate, and assist them in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
- Manage union relations including the preparation, conduct and follow-up on monthly Union / Company Meetings.
- Settlement of employee grievances.
- Participate in contract negotiations.
- Enforce company compliance with FMLA, ADA, HIPPA, etc.
- Directs the activities of the HR Assistant.
- Assists with coordinating training as needed for employees.
- Coordinates contract employee weekly requirements, salary recruiting and new hire background checks, E-Verify, and orientation.
- Administers hourly performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
- Coordinates plant activities (picnics, celebration dinners, employee awards, etc.) to ensure good human relations.
- Prepares employee change notices, new hire requisitions, offer letters, and all other related payroll documentation.
- Creates and updates plant weekly HR Metrics and monthly QOS, absenteeism, turnover, overtime, monthly goal sharing.
- One HR monthly HR Metric reporting prior to deadlines.
- Maintains good relations with employees.
- Knowledge and practice of Hutchinson's Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, procedures and requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Minimum of a BS degree or equivalent, with a minimum of 5 years of professional work experience in a manufacturing environment with 200 or greater employees.
Union experience. PHR or SPHR preferred. Ability to communicate with all levels in the organization. Ability to work in HR information systems and Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
Ability to bring projects to completion with limited direction.
