Outreach Caseworker- $3K Hiring Bonus, Providence, RI

The Key Program, Inc. is currently seeking a full time O utreach Caseworker to work with children and families living within the Providence and South County areas.

The position will be based out of our Providence, RI regional office.

In ADDITION to the $20.50 per hour wage, this full-time position qualifies for A $3,000 Hiring Bonus ($1500 at the completion of 3 months orientation and $1500 at the completion of 6 months)

Qualifications :

• One-year human service work including internships and volunteer experience is required; Bachelors degree preferred or lived experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
• All candidates must be 21 years of age or older; have a valid state drivers license; and, have a legally registered and insured car for work use.
• Youth Counselors work within a team system and must have the ability to work a rotating schedule including some days, some evenings and some weekend shifts.

Any hours beyond 40 per week are paid at time and a half. On call duties are also required.

Responsibilities : The Outreach Youth & Family Counselor is directly responsible for overseeing and executing services for clients and families referred by RI DCYF and Juvenile Probation.

Specific job responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

• Provide advocacy in the areas of health, education, vocation, legal and family / foster family intervention;
• Facilitate individual client and / or family / foster family counseling, mediation, and support and group counseling sessions;
• Coordinate clinical services with Key and community mental health settings;
• Provides intensive community tracking services;
• Establishes aftercare plans and develops community resources for terminating clients and their families;
• Completes case documentation (assessments, daily treatment notes, reports, etc.) in a thorough, professional and timely manner.

The Key Program is a private, non-profit human service agency whose mission is to assist children / adolescents and their families to pursue productive and rewarding lives.

Key works in conjunction with the MA Department of Children & Families (DCF), MA Department of Youth Services (DYS), the MA Department of Mental Health (DMH) and the RI Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF) and is an agency provider of both community-based outreach services and residential treatment programming.
