Senior Network Engineer
What does a successful Senior Network Engineer do at Fiserv?
You'll own design and development of network services and technologies to exceed client and business unit requirements. Your primary goal is to identify optimal networking and communications solutions that deliver long-term capability, capacity, reliability, and resiliency for the business units and clients to successfully maintain and grow their business operations.
What you will do :
- Design and deploy optimal networking and connectivity solutions that enable clients and business units to achieve their operational and business goals
- Prepare recommendations and supporting details for formal proposals for network connectivity and configurations
- Interact with telecom providers, equipment suppliers, and third-party network vendors to engage their technical resources to perform tasks
- Analyze and interpret traffic and utilization of services on network connections
- Participate in disaster recovery exercises, pre-production certification testing, and troubleshooting events
- Coordinate internal Fiserv operations to meet and exceed data communications and project expectations, including development, certifications testing, network and IT operations, capacity planning, and production readiness
- Manage partner and client expectations for data communications connectivity, and related services to Fiserv products and applications, throughout project lifecycles
What you will need to have :
- 5+ years of experience in design, planning, coordination, and implementation of technology projects among multiple telecom and equipment vendors and customers
- 5+ years of experience with layer-3 protocols (EIGRP, BGP), layer-2 protocols (Spanning-tree, HSRP, etc.), route distribution, and route filtering
- 5+ years of experience with VRP, NAT, and various VPN technologies (DMVPN, IPSEC, etc.)
- Experience with SDWAN and automation scripting with Yaml, Ansible, or Python
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of work, education, and / or military experience
- Current Fiserv infrastructure experience
