We’re looking to hire a talented QA analyst to help build a highly-reliable media creation platform. This position is a full-time role reporting to the Quality Lead at the Kapwing HQ in San Francisco.
Responsibilities
- Ensure high-quality product development : Support the product and engineering team by writing test plans and iteratively testing functionality
- Oversee releases : Work with engineering and Customer Support to develop processes and protocols to oversee pre-release testing and post-release monitoring.
- Manual testing : Rigorously check that Kapwing is performing as expected in production. Investigate bugs to find reproduction steps and assist the Customer Support team to identify technical issues that users run into.
- Act as interface between engineering and customer support.
- Investigate user reported issues for reproducible steps or root cause, and triage priority.
Requirements
- Strong communication skills : Clear technical writer and strong speaking skills
- 2+ years of work experience in a technical or analytical role (experience with quantitative analysis, scripting, QA, engineering, etc).
- Experience with web testing.
- Experience with bug / task tracking tools (ex : Asana, Jira, Shortcut).
- Creative thinker : Thinks of many solutions to a problem.
- Entrepreneurial : Excited about joining a small, high-growth team and contributing across all areas of the company.
- No ego : There’s a lot we wish we could do but don’t have time for. Must have the ability to put the product’s needs first.
- Passion for serving creative professionals and interest in media.
- Creative and organized, with a dedicated customer approach.
- Experience in functional end-to-end workflow testing, including test planning and execution.
Preferred
- Experience with automated testing (Cypress, Jest).
- Experience with Sentry, Papertrail, and Heroku.
- 1+ year of experience with Javascript, Python, HTML.
- Experience with video editing tools.
