Position Description

Location : This is one opening

and the applicant must be currently located in or originally from Central or Northern IL :

• Central IL applicants are eligible if in the 45 county region considered to be Central IL that includes major cities such as Peoria, Springfield, Decatur, Quincy, ChampaignUrbana, BloomingtonNormal, Galesburg, and Danville.
• Northern IL applicants are eligible if in Lake, McHenry, Boone, or Winnebago.

The Outreach Coordinator will join the Outreach Department and report to Faith in Places Illinois Outreach Director. They will be responsible for outreach only in their geographic region.

This position will be hired at the Coordinator, Senior Coordinator, or Manager level depending on experience and qualifications :

Hours

This is a full-time, exempt position. While most work is during a standard workday, outreach often occurs on evenings and weekends. Comp time will be provided for approved time worked outside regular hours.

About the Organizations Mission

Faith in Place is a multifaith environmental nonprofit (501c3) with outreach staff across Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin. Our mission is to empower people of diverse faiths and spiritualities to lead on environmental and racial justice, providing resources to educate, connect, and advocate for healthier communities.

All Faith in Place staff also contribute part of their working hours to the Faith in Place Action Fund (501c4), which raises memberships and motivates lobbying for environmental justice through grassroots lobbying, legislator scorecards, questionnaires, interviews, and candidate endorsements.
