Description

Granular Insurance is a subsidiary of Verily. Granular's mission is to empower self-funded employers to better manage their health risk with its innovative and data-driven Precision Risk platform of solutions.

Granular's Precision Risk delivers better health outcomes and meaningful, long-term financial predictability via more precise underwriting, risk segmentation, and actionable insights into cost drivers.

As the Business Data Analyst, you will be supporting the growth of Granular Insurance by performing reporting and visualization, business process review, system design, and implementation management on projects and processes within the company.

This may include reviewing healthcare data, business workflows, process requirements, file specifications, internal systems and processes, data reporting and dashboard development, and working on technical and operational projects in varying degrees of the project life cycle;

from ideation, planning, execution, and maintenance. To succeed in this role, you will need experience in technical systems and workflows common within healthcare-data related industry and in building, fixing, and monitoring / maintaining systems and processes in support of that data.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct analysis on datasets to meet business needs and become familiar with healthcare data in support of claims, diagnosis, procedures, and payments.
  • Provide support for reporting and visualization of data across the organization, including requirements gathering, development, delivery, and maintenance phases as well as detailing system and process documentation.
  • Meet with executive leadership or other stakeholders / requestors to present report findings and / or gather information and requirements for data-related requests.
  • Administer data and data systems within multiple platforms including Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery data management and operations, Salesforce, Google Workspace, Reporting applications, and other systems as needed.
  • Ensure alignment on new technology efforts through effective requirements gathering, communications and change management processes.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree (BA / BS) with 3+ years of experience in data management, data analysis, reporting, data visualization, systems analysis, and / or project management, preferably within health insurance or technology.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written), analytical and presentation skills with outstanding attention to detail and ability to take initiative, build productive relationships and influence effectively across various levels of stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in SQL and data visualization platforms (Looker, Tableau, Qlik, etc.), preferably within a cloud based environment.
  • Strong understanding of technology, preferably application development, workflow management, and enterprise architecture.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in building cloud-based software solutions, managing data ETL processes, and establishing data reporting workflows.
  • 3+ years experience in data analysis, data cleaning, data modeling, and / or data storytelling, utilizing SQL and Python.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing processes independently with little oversight.
  • Experience coordinating and participating in cross-functional projects or implementations.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $100,000 - $120,000 + bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.

The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
