We are looking to hire a key member of our Global Maintenance and Reliability team to support multiple sites. This position can sit in either Houston, TX, Jacksonville, FL, Savannah, GA, or Panama City, FL.
The Global Fixed Equipment Engineer provides leadership over fixed equipment mechanical integrity (MI) systems, strategies, and policies while assuring alignment with government regulations and corporate values and goals.
The Global Fixed Equipment Engineer will report to the Global Maintenance & Reliability Manager and will have a primary focus on Maintenance and Reliability.
The primary goal is to minimize or eliminate unscheduled equipment downtime and deploy processes, procedures, and systems that create efficient management of our maintenance programs at our production facilities within the area of Fixed Equipment resulting in a reduction in Loss of Primary Containment (LOPC) events.
A secondary focus is to provide guidance and support in design of new Fixed Equipment. This is a hybrid schedule opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide company-wide leadership for MI strategies and policies.
- Provide guidance and oversight on fixed equipment MI programs at production locations.
- Facilitate fixed equipment MI networks, sharing best practices, successes, and failures.
- Serve as a company-wide technical resource for matters related to fixed equipment and pressure relief systems.
- Serve as a company-wide authority on codes and standards related to fixed equipment and pressure relief systems.
- Participate in setting equipment criteria and specifications for capital projects to optimize reliability and life cycle cost.
Also, be available to provide technical support for design, fabrication, installation, and start-up of new critical equipment.
- Manage company-wide metrics and collaborate with production locations on continuous improvement.
- Lead development and implementation of company-wide fixed equipment engineering standards.
- Develop and oversee corporate contracts with fixed equipment MI service providers.
- Participate in continuing education, professional organizations (e.g., API, ASME), and conferences to stay current with emerging technologies and industry practices.
Required Skills
- At least 10 years of experience related to fixed equipment mechanical integrity.
- Experience in a PSM-covered petrochemical facility.
- Advanced knowledge of fixed equipment codes and standards, including EU equivalents :
- Design / fabrication : ASME BPVC, ASME B31, API 620, API 650.
- Inspection / repair : NBIC, API 510, API 570, API 576, API 653.
- Equipment protection : API 520, API 521, API 2000.
- OSHA PSM Regulation, 29 CFR 1910.119
- Other Standards : API 571, API 579, API 580, API 583, ASME PCC-1, ASME PCC-2.
- Engineering application of piping and pressure vessel codes.
- Expertise in repair and inspection of fixed equipment.
- Expertise with inspection and non-destructive testing techniques.
- Experience with software systems such as SAP and GE APM.
Education, Certifications & Licenses
- Required : BS in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field.
- Preferred : Professional engineering license or API certifications.
