Pre-Construction Estimator Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled, motivated estimator to join our growing team. In this position, you will be responsible for project take-offs, estimating labor and materials costs, and communicating financial cost and take-off to Director of Pre-Construction and Construction Management Team.
You must have a keen attention to detail and the ability to read and comprehend construction plans and specifications.
Pre-Construction Estimator Duties and Responsibilities
- Fulfill appointed tasks in a timely manner.
- Assess projects by identifying project requirements, regarding time, labor, and material costs.
- Read blueprints and analyze all other applicable documents to prepare estimates.
- Work with Director of Construction to prepare bid packages and presentations to upper management.
- Recommend cost-reduction options.
- Maintain thorough records of all project documentation, including estimates and specifications.
Pre-Construction Estimator Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or architecture
- 3-5 years in the construction industry, specifically stick-built required.
- Pre-construction experience preferred.
- High knowledge and capability to read and understand construction plans.
- Knowledge of material take-off formulas and methods required
- Knowledge in the following software preferred : Microsoft OfficeBluebeamProcoreSage / Timberline
- Ability to operate independently and complete assigned tasks with deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
- Critical thinking, analytical, and organizational skills
- Time management skills
- Limited travel potential
