Position Information Position Title Assistant Coordinator of Admissions FLSA Classification EX Reports to Assistant Director, Admissions, Hartford Art School Salary Range G Weeks Per Year 52 Work Week 40 hours (minimum) Position Summary Assumes responsibility for representing the Hartford Art School in its recruitment efforts, traveling to high schools and colleges to conduct presentations and portfolio reviews with prospective students.
Aids and assists in the planning and execution of special events, requiring extensive weekend work. Performs all duties in full support of the University’s mission, understanding that the positive and effective execution of these duties are instrumental to the education of the University’s students.
Hiring Range Starting Salary is budgeted at $45,868.00 Key Responsibilities Key Responsibilities
Informs prospective and current students, parents and others as necessary and / or appropriate of Hartford Art School admission and financial aid requirements, policies and procedures.
Reviews and determines acceptance for financial aid. Exhibits diplomacy and tact when handling highly confidential and sensitive information.
Maintains the ability to manage multiple priorities under established time constraints.
Establishes, cultivates and maintains effective working relationships with prospective students, parents, other educational institutions as well as other internal and external constituencies.
Conducts individual and group tours of Hartford Art School facilities in an effort to positively position the School and the University of Hartford.
Organizes travel schedules with other Hartford Art School admissions staff in an effort to ensure effective office coverage.
Travels to local and regional high schools and community colleges within the recruitment market both in and out of state in an effort to market the Hartford Art School and its affiliated programs.
Assists in planning and coordinating special events including, but not limited to, National Portfolio Day, University and Art School Open Houses.
Attends portfolio days and other Hartford Art School admission events, on both week days and weekends.
Maintains current University admission data by internally tracking Hartford Art School admission prospects consistent with established data integrity standards.
Maintains statistical tracking for all applications from submission to acceptance.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
