We are looking to add new talent to our growing team! We are currently seeking a passionate and engaging Principal Consultant in environmental consulting and remediation to join our growing team in Oakland, CA area or San Diego, CA area .

The ideal candidate brings significant consulting experience and client trusted-advisor relationships, and will provide leadership, strategic direction, and technical support to enhance our California presence.

As a senior leader, you will be fully accountable for successfully developing, managing, and consulting for a variety of clients, and will be supported by collaborative, multidisciplinary project teams.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will :

• Serve as a key member of the California market leadership team to drive profitable growth of the environmental consulting business.
• Have a passion and demonstrated success for developing business with new clients and continuing to foster trusted relationships with existing clients.
• Personally engage in developing and executing strategic consulting work with identified existing and target clients.
• Direct and execute consulting projects, acting as the main client contact for work attained.
• Oversee the safe execution of all phases of a project to meet our client’s objectives, as well as company goals for revenue generation and profitability.
• Demonstrate strong technical competence in the services required by our clients.
• Manage all phases and aspects of projects to address client goals and objectives.
• Direct the execution of projects to meet technical, quality, budgetary and scheduling requirements.
• Mentor staff through a learn-by-doing model.
• Work cooperatively in a team-based environment.

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geology, chemistry, or environmental science.
• More than 15 years of experience in strategic environmental consulting.
• Proven client development experience and client relationships supported by repeat business, including established contacts in both private and public sector markets.
• Consistent track record, including successfully winning and managing large and strategic projects.
• Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and people skills.
• Advanced knowledge of the local, state and federal regulatory landscape and proven negotiation skills with federal, state and local regulators.

The salary range for this position in California is $163,000 - $251,000 annually . Actual compensation will be based upon a variety of factors such as education, related work experience, certificates, skills, and current market conditions.
