Adkison Towing is a family own business. We are currently growing our business; the mechanic shop has just been updated. We have added new equipment, and plenty of space.
We offer services such as towing vehicles, assisting the police with keeping the roads cleared, off road recoveries. Adkison Towing has spent the last twenty-seven years building a good reputation in Jacksonville Fl.
We are looking for a reliable mechanic who can handle the fleet. We run Peterbilts, International, Hinos, Fords, Dodges, we also have some heavy construction equipment.
Job Description
Perform mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on all company fleet vehicles.
Troubleshoot, diagnose and complete repairs on all fleet vehicles.
Demonstrates a working knowledge of hydraulic systems and components.
Repairs and lubricates machines and equipment.
Respond to service calls.
Pick up fleet vehicles.
Follows procedures to accomplish assigned tasks.
Removes, repairs, overhauls, and installs facility equipment such as vehicles, diesel engines, compressors, generators, aerial lifts, and maintenance shop equipment.
Moves machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, forklifts, and trucks.
Dismantles machinery and equipment for shipment to repair site, usually performing installation and maintenance work as part of team.
Uses various portable and fixed machines, such as grinders, welders, saws, and drills or drill presses.
Assembles and installs machinery and equipment using hand tools and power tools.
Performs and documents Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) preventative maintenance on shipyard equipment and vehicles.
Maintains clean car lot and a clean mechanic shop
May be required to perform additional functions
Job Requirements
Minimum of 4 year of mechanical experience on light and heavy equipment
Experience with heavy duty and PIT equipment
Excellent demonstrated mechanical and technical aptitude
May be required to supply automotive hand tools (not including heavy duty or diagnostic tools)
Clean driving record / no felonies as we are a police impound yard
