Position Overview :
As a Machinist II at KYOCERA SENCO, you will utilize your expertise in machining to interpret complicated tooling and part drawings, work with advanced shop mathematics, and operate a variety of standard machine tools with precision.
This role is critical in maintaining the high-quality standards of our products, requiring a deep understanding of machining characteristics, finishing techniques, and assembly.
You will be working with vertical and horizontal mills, engine lathes, surface grinders, and other advanced machinery to achieve very close tolerances.
Shift / Schedule : 40 hours per week (+OT when available)
1st Shift : Monday - Friday; 7 / 8am - 3 / 4pm
Pay is BASED ON EXPERIENCE :
Pay range starts at $24 / hr
Key Responsibilities :
- Interpret complex tooling and part drawings and devise holding fixtures.
- Apply advanced shop mathematics, including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry, to calculate unknown angles, linear dimensions, and speeds / feeds.
- Set up and operate a wide variety of machine tools, achieving tolerances as tight as .0002 inches.
- Utilize a broad knowledge of machining materials, finishing techniques, and assembly processes.
- Work independently with minimal supervision, showcasing high proficiency in machinery and mental concentration.
- Perform GD&T proofing and understand CNC language.
- Document activities in reports, sketches, and other formats as required.
Qualifications :
- High school or vocational school graduate with courses in shop mathematics, supplemented by at least four years of experience in a machining discipline.
- In-depth knowledge of cutter geometry, feeds, speeds, heat treatment characteristics, and metals.
- Proficiency in using a variety of precision hand tools and small shop equipment.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a precision machining environment.
- Ability to check work for errors and correct any mistakes.
Work Environment :
- Must be able to work with various machines, hand tools, and equipment.
- Physical demands include standing, walking, and lifting up to 75 pounds throughout the shift.
- Ability to work in environments with exposure to noise, dirt, and fumes within OSHA limits.
