Position Summary :

The Clinical intelligence developer is a high-level staff member responsible for the delivery of reports, dashboards and other analytical solutions of high complexity.

The developer utilizes knowledge of database design, data structure and modeling to deliver on system balanced scorecard initiatives, regulatory reporting, and clinical decision support .

These solutions are cost-effective, secure, and produce high levels of customer satisfaction. The position allows for the continued development of the employee’s clinical information system knowledge, skills, and clinical workflow process understanding.

The position requires frequent direct interaction with a variety of clinical customers.

Position Responsibilities :

Key Areas of Responsibility

Works collaboratively in a team setting, exhibits attention to detail and process rigor required for the development of complex clinical analytic solutions leveraging a variety of analytic tools (QlikView, Qlik Sense, Epic (RWB, Radar, SlicerDicer, Predictive models).

Responsible for the development and delivery of visual analytics and self-service reporting :

Planning and development of business and design requirements by a ssessing customer needs and determines most appropriate data sources, data fields and visualization tools

Translate requirements into functional specifications necessary for data model development.

Understand workflows and critical questions that need to be answered incorporating feedback into the design of analytic solutions.

Performs data validation by c reating and executing testing plans and runs audit reports to ensure integrity of data.

Performs debugging, monitoring and troubleshooting the functionality and content of dashboards and reports.

Leads user access testing efforts and develops communication plans. Establishes user access and PHI requirements.

Understand quality and regulatory reporting requirements across the acute and non-acute delivery systems for Hartford HealthCare .

D ocument, monitor and refine standard work processes. Operationalize standard work for data stewards as needed for ongoing validation efforts.

Additional responsibilities may include supporting analytic needs for new CareConnect (Epic) implementations as needed. Researching legacy BI solutions and aligning to future-state Epic reports.

Partnering with CareConnect Application teams to ensure Epic workflows support newly developed Epic reporting solutions

Qualifications

Education

Minimum : Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Analytics, or related discipline

Preferred : Master’s Degree in Analytics, MIS, or related discipline

Experience :

Minimum : 3-4 years of relevant experience in a large healthcare system developing operational and / or analytical reports in a complex healthcare environment.

Preferred : 5+ years of relevant experience in a large healthcare system developing operational and / or analytical reports in an Epic environment.

Licensure, Certification, Registration :

Minimum : Epic Data Model Certification required within 6 months of hire.

Preferred :

Epic Data Model Certification

QlikView / Sense Certification

Technical Skills : Minimum :

Minimum :

Demonstrated proficiency in SQL (essential to this role); Oracle PL / SQL required for Clarity and T-SQL for Caboodle and internal SQL databases.

ETL proficiency in SSIS or Informatica a plus.

1-2 years; QlikView / Qlik Sense development experience required.

Preferred : 2-5 years QlikView, Qlik Sense

Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements :

Develops and maintains solid understanding of healthcare / clinical terminology, quality, performance and process improvement metrics to influence effective and relevant solutions

Knowledge of federal and state regulatory requirements.

Executes project management methodology and adherence to all change control policies.

Provides project management on medium to large analytics projects.

Highly effective analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong facilitation skills.

Maintain knowledge, skills, and certifications through participation in seminars, conferences and other educational opportunities.

Adheres to PHI standards and m aintains high regard for the security, confidential and sensitive materials of the customer and / or patient health information at all times in accordance with HHC policies and procedures.

Ability to translate complex or diverse information into simpler terms and concepts.

Ability to use intuition and experience to complement data.

Experience translating user stories into technical solutions and being efficient to drive results.

Team player with the ability to collaborate with others.
