Travels to Centra Medical Group medical practice sites throughout central and south Virginia to provide nursing services based on business needs
Performs physical exams and health histories
Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological and spiritual support to patients and families
Provides health promotion, counseling and education to patients and caregivers. Identifies patient care requirements by establishing a rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand care requirements
Administers medications, wound care, and personal health interventions at the direction of a provider
Maintains accurate, detailed patient records and charts using an electronic medical records (EMR) system
Interprets patient information and makes critical decisions about needed actions in collaboration with a provider and interdisciplinary team member
Assists with direction of care delivery by other healthcare professionals such as LPNs
Maintains safe and clean work environment by complying with policies and procedures, rules, and regulations
Adheres to CMG Quality Metrics driven by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)
Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential and following Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of (HIPAA) regulations
May perform other duties as assigned or requested and job specification can be modified or updated at any time

Required Education : Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program
Required Experience : At least two (2) years of nursing experience. Maintains a professional portfolio that includes current licensure, annual Virginia Board of Nursing Education Requirements, annual Centra mandatory CBLs, annual CMG RN specific competency completion / education verification.
Required Certifications and Licensures : Hold a current, active license as a registered nurse in Virginia or hold a current multistate licensure privilege as a registered nurse.
BLS certification within the first six (6) months of employment and maintain current BLS certification. Driving is an essential function of this position;
Valid Virginia Driver's License with a Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) record in good standing. When driving a Centra-owned vehicle, Centra is the primary insurer.
When driving a privately-owned vehicle for work, personal insurance attached to the vehicle is the primary insurance; Centra insurance will supplement for catastrophic events.
Centra will review DMV records annually and verify personal insurance as needed.
Effective April 1, 2024, candidates seeking employment in this role at Centra must possess a valid and current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS Provider or AHA BLS Instructor) course completion card.
Proof of certification will be mandatory prior to commencing employment. Both AHA and RQI cards are acceptable forms of certification.
