Accounting Manager

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing financial records and day to day accounting operations, including financial controls and guidelines that comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

This is a year-round position, scheduled to begin July, 2024.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure an accurate and timely quarterly and year end close. Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.
• Ensure the accurate and timely processing of monthly student billing. Ensure the monthly Bank Compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner
• Coordinates the annual independent audit
• File reports necessary to comply with State law and Federal regulations
• Run payroll, bi-weekly
• Maintain the fixed asset inventory system by maintaining pertinent records and ensuring adequate treatment of fixed asset acquisitions and retirements.
• Ensure the accuracy of data and adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Audit departmental accounting data, identify and correct errors, identify and compute accruals, apply accounting principles to transactions and recommends revisions in accounting procedures to ensure conformance with applicable statutes and General Accepted Accounting Principles
• Design internal control systems to ensure the safeguarding of TVS assets.
• Supervise employees in the department; carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
• Maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure
• Assist CFO / COO in the annual budgeting process
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Accounting or related field
• 5+ years' of related experience in the essential functions of the role as listed above
• School experience preferred
• Experience with Paylocity preferred
• Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Knowledge of financial and accounting software applications
• Ability to prioritize a number of projects, assimilating information with accuracy and consistent attention to detail and meet schedules and deadlines
• Physically, the position requires sitting, walking, standing for long periods of time, and ability to lift up to 10 lbs. without assistance
