Now Hiring - Therapeutic Therapist - Holyoke, MA
Care-One at Holyoke
The Therapeutic Therapist will be responsible for, but not limited to :
- Accurately document resident attendance and response to therapeutic and activity groups.
- Monitor resident attendance at groups and maximize participation through appropriate motivational techniques.
- Serve as acting supervisor in the absence of Therapeutic Services Supervisor.
- Communicate with Program Director, Associate Program Director, and Nurse Managers regarding needs and scheduling.
- Serve as liaison between Therapeutic Assistants and Therapeutic Services Supervisor.
- Observe and report on resident's physical and psychiatric condition,
- reporting significant changes to the Nurse Manager and Program / Associate Director.
- Cue and supervise resident ADLs and provide token economy points.
- As a senior member of Therapeutic Services Code Team, respond to behavioral codes,
- providing early intervention and de-escalation of situation.
- Encourage resident interaction with staff and peers, while acting as a role model.
- Assist resident with the shaping of new behaviors by providing timely feedback.
- Implement individualized behavioral goals outlined in resident Care Plan.
- Develop and provide feedback on individualized behavioral
- Accompany residents to community appointments, assuring safety at all times.
- Transport residents in facility vehicles, as directed.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Participate in in-service education, as provided by facility.
- Other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Position Requirements :
Education
Bachelor's degree in Mental Health or closely related field.
Experience
At least 2-3 years of experience in neurorehabilitation, residential setting preferred.
License or Certification
CPI (Crisis Prevention and Intervention) certification.
Valid drivers license in state of residence.
