Manage and oversee the daily operations of corporate accounting functions within Retail Convenience Stores.

Duties and Responsibilities

The essential job functions include, but are not limited to :

• Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to accounts payable, general ledger, and retail accounting.
• Ensure monthly closings are done timely and accurately.
• Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are done timely and accurately.
• Assess current practices and procedures and make recommendations for improvements.
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships
• Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.

Requirements : Qualifications

Qualifications

The position requirements include, but are not limited to :

• Work experience as an Accounting Manager or Finance Manager, + 3 or more years’ work experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
• Great interpersonal and verbal communication skills
• Sound knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
• Experience with accounting software and databases.
• Superior data management and data analysis skills.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Detail-oriented with a passion for accuracy.
• Strong experience managing and mentoring staff.
• Strong experience with Full-Cycle accounting.
• Efficient in PDI or other ERP systems.
• Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills with advanced Excel skills required.
• Point of Sale Transaction experience a plus.
• Valid Driver License.

Education

The position requires the following educational experience :

Bachelor’s or associate degree in accounting, finance, or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.

Work Environment

Work is performed primarily inside a climate-controlled office space. Occasionally there will be travel and may work in an outdoor environment.
