Job Summary
The College of Education is excited to announce the recruitment for the Assistant Director of Student Services within the EAGLES program.
This role is responsible for supporting student success and growth while upholding the program's mission. This role involves designing and implementing course curricula, teaching select courses, and overseeing the WINGS peer mentor organization.
The Assistant Director strengthens campus partnerships, enhances student support services, and manages students' personal and social development.
They supervise Instruction Coordinators, contribute to strategic planning, and ensure compliance with student data management.
Additionally, they oversee key student transition programs like orientation and Summer Bridge Camp, ensure accommodations are in place, and assist with marketing and outreach to promote the program.

Essential Functions
- Designs, revises, and implements EAGLES course curricula and coordinates with campus partners to support implementation of the master schedule.
- Teaches select EAGLES courses each semester.
- Oversees the WINGS peer mentor organization, including supervision of daily operations, program development, recruitment, training, and ongoing support of peer mentors.
- Directs outreach initiatives and campus partnerships to enhance the academic and social support for EAGLES students.
- Oversees the personal and social development of EAGLES students, ensuring their involvement in campus and community activities.
- Supervises and supports Instruction Coordinators in their roles, providing guidance on student engagement and progress.
- Performs administrative duties related to EAGLES program operations and initiatives.
- Provides feedback, ideas, and solutions to enhance student learning, satisfaction, and engagement. Assists in the development and execution of strategic plans for the program.
- Develops and maintains accurate records and systems to ensure compliance with FERPA and to support program enhancements.
Manages the storage and security of student data.
- Oversees the planning and execution of EAGLES Preparation Modules, orientation activities for first-year students and their families, and welcome week activities, ensuring a smooth transition to university life.
- Plans and implements the daily student activities, addressing student needs, discipline, and assisting with problem-solving when conflicts or emergencies arise.
- Oversees and Directs the EAGLES Program Summer Bridge Camp program.
- Ensures that accommodations and modifications are implemented effectively to support student success and access to university life.
- Assists in the development of marketing plans and publicity materials to promote the EAGLES program to target audiences.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Special Education, Psychology, Counseling or relevant field.
- 5 years of experience in teaching or similarly working with students with intellectual disabilities and developing programs for students with intellectual disabilities.
At least 1 year of progressive experience in supervising, mentoring, and / or leading.
Minimum Skills, License, and Certifications
Minimum Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge in special education policies, laws, and current research trends in the field of transition and inclusive higher education programs.
- Knowledge of leading staff to successful implementation of teaching and developing a transition program for students with intellectual disabilities.
- Knowledge in evidence-based instructional strategies, successful parent involvement strategies, planning community based instructional lessons ( e.
g., situational instruction, like laundry, grocery shopping, tiger transit, restaurant etiquette etc.), person-centered planning, record keeping, developing strategies to collaborate with and coordinate peer mentors, effective collaboration strategies, providing accommodations and supports for students with intellectual disabilities, lesson planning, developing task-analyses, and professional writing.
Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
- A proven ability to facilitate system change with advanced understanding of special education and intellectual disabilities.
- Leadership skills with the ability to work collaboratively and as part of a team within the state, local, and university settings.

MINIMUM LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS :
- Class A teaching certificate in Collaborative Teacher Special Education or an equivalent certification in a related / relevant field, required upon hire.
- A leadership certification in administration or higher education, if not held upon hire, must earn within 1 year of hire date.
