Description

The Chicago School’s Associate Director of Donor and Corporate Relations is a dynamic professional with a hybrid position with on-the-ground responsibilities primarily in Chicago.

The Associate Director of Donor and Corporate Relations reports to the Director of Major Gifts and is charged with building and strengthening donor and corporate connections and engagement.

To achieve these goals, this position will collaborate with faculty members and colleagues across the University to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward giving;

secure commitments from donors for direct program support through annual fund and directed gifts; and assist with managing events and supporting the department.

Responsibilities :

Promote annual fund and corporate engagement programs that support the University’s strategic plan for increased donor engagement, develop new support opportunities through direct and email marketing programs, grassroots initiatives, and event attendance;

thus building fundraising activities and revenue opportunities within the Office of Institutional Advancement. Specific responsibilities include :

Advancement Programs : Annual Fund, Donor Outreach and Alumni Relations

  • Establish and work with vendors and internal support through TCS Communications and System Marketing teams to effectively expand and execute annual fund outreach with electronic advertising, social media support and geotargeting of donor pools
  • Conduct annual fund campaigns utilizing existing RENXT data
  • Work with University Deans, Institute and Center leadership to execute segmented donor programs for revenue generation
  • With the support of student workers, execute internal employee campaigns
  • Establish and steward relationships with a wide range of current and potential donors locally, regionally, and nationally
  • Leverage alumni events to grow donor engagement
  • Maintain regular contact with donors via direct meetings, electronic newsletters, email blasts, custom web pages, and print publications
  • Leverage internal University and external community events to expand and strengthen donor engagement and frequency of interactions with the extended University community

Corporate Relations

  • Develop new corporate partnerships and funding opportunities by organizing and implementing cultivation and solicitation events
  • Build relationships with corporate foundations for underwriting of events
  • Direct and support grant writers in the drafting of solicitations and grants for budget relief and student scholarship support, particularly for the new ILCOM
  • Ensure accurate and complete database records - capture contact, key biographical and philanthropic information including but not limited to qualification meetings, cultivation meetings and interactions (invitations to University events, joining tables at extended Community events), etc.
  • Analyze qualitative and quantitative data and prepare comprehensive reports for the President’s Office and Board of Trustees meetings
  • Ability to identify barriers to success and propose alternatives processes and approaches to reach financial goals
  • Provide budgeting direction, monitoring and vendor selection within budget parameters
  • All other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Major Gifts and the Vice President of Institutional Advancement.

Supervisory Responsibilities :

Ability to work with, supervise, and lead the activities of student workers and matrix projects across the University.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree required. Graduate degree preferred
  • A minimum of two years of frontline fundraising experience (preferably in higher education) is required for this position.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) required.
  • Experience with RENXT / Salesforce and advancement research databases such as Instrumentl and iWave strongly preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

This opportunity is budgeted at $85,000 to $110,00 base compensation. Additional compensation factors may impact total compensation.
