Member Consultant

What You Will Do :

Supports Security Service Federal Credit Union in becoming America's Best Credit Union by following our purpose of enriching the lives of our members with beneficial financial solutions and a lifetime of service excellence inspired by our Core Values.

Is an expert in basic cash and member service skillsets including SSFCU products and services. Maintains a member centric focus through a consultative sales approach by proactively identifying and meeting needs with beneficial financial solutions through education and SSFCU products and services.

Supports sales efforts with integrity and guidelines set forth by SSFCU. Assists internal / external members in an enthusiastic, courteous, and professional manner by providing solutions, resolving issues, following up and creating a positive member experience.

Fosters a teamwork attitude to ensure all credit union goals and objectives are achieved. Completes any other job-related duties needed to help drive to our Vision, fulfill our Purpose, and abide by our Organization’s Values.

What We Require :

High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of two (2) years of financial institution experience in Member Service or Cash Operations or comparable experience in cash handling, customer service, or sales experience.

Good communication skills and professional demeanor with the ability to speak to internal and external customers and process their requests in a confidential manner.

Basic computer skills to send and respond to email messages, search for information on internal intranet, and utilize electronic resources and equipment.

Adapts to changing work environments, work priorities and organizational needs. Able to work in a fast-paced sales and transactional environment while multi-tasking.

Able to foster a teamwork attitude to ensure all credit union goals and objectives are achieved. At management discretion employee may be required to complete, within 180 days of request, federal registration as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) as required by the Secure and Fair Enforcement of Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (S.

A.F.E. Act). If registered, must maintain active registration, and comply with all requirements of the S.A.F.E. Act, including but not limited to, providing their unique identifier, and ensuring the Registry is updated with significant changes (i.

e., name changes and reportable changes to legal or regulatory actions) within 30 days and must update employment and personal information in the Registry as required.

If required to register as an MLO, will successfully pass a background check against the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Excluded Parties List (EPL), the HUD Limited Denial of Participation List (LDP List), and the Federal Housing Finance Agency's (FHFA) Suspended Counterparty Program (SCP) list as required by secondary market investors.

Must maintain ability to pass any subsequent background checks against these lists and comply with all their requirements.

Ideal Candidate Will Have :

Able to work in a high-volume environment while managing multiple priorities. Professional demeanor with ability to communicate with internal / external members both verbally and written in a confidential manner.

Thorough knowledge and understanding of federal, state and NCUA / CFPB regulations. Detailed knowledge of financial institution operations and procedures.

Strong computer skills to communicate, search and process using electronic resources, programs, and equipment daily. Ability to utilize knowledge and resources to effectively solve problems and make sound decisions.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Purpose driven and passionate about improving members’ financial well-being while enriching their lives.

Strong interpersonal skills that display active listening, empathy, and patience.
