The R&D Project Manager provides project management expertise executing the New Product Development (NPD), Solutions Delivery Process (SDP) within the EnTech Division in collaboration with Corporate Engineering (CE) team members.

The project will span across and impact all FTI divisions. The Project Manager will lead cross-functional project teams comprised of internal personnel and / or OEM / supplier resources assigned to plan and execute projects.

The R&D Project Manager will work closely with the cross-functional Leadership Team to ensure that projects have proper resource allocation, develop timelines and manage project budgets, communicate Project Team’s progress and status, and execute projects to meet agreed-upon timelines, cost, and quality targets.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing projects leveraging a highly defined, stage-gated product development or solutions delivery process from concept to commercialization, and experience in leading, motivating, and managing technically based cross-functional teams in accomplishing projects with notable impact(s) on company objectives.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education : Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Management, Project Management, Analytics, or a related field is required.

Experience : Minimum or 5-10 years of demonstrated Project Management experience.

Recent experience managing projects of medium to large size with medium to high complexity

Management of medium to large project teams.

Managing and controlling project budgets between $500k - $2M.

Strong stakeholder management skills with experience interacting with Executive Leadership.

Required Certification : Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)

Preferred Lean Six Sigma experience.

Preferred Stage-Gate NPD Process experience, SDLC experience.

Travel : 15-20%

Work Schedule : This position works between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday- Friday. However, work may be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Demonstrates working knowledge of project management PMBOK methodology, New Product Development (NPD), Solutions Delivery Process (SDP).
  • Process along with basic knowledge of project management with experience managing medium to large project size.
  • Works with Project Sponsor and Solution Owner to ensure scope is explicitly defined, documented, and integrity maintained.
  • Works with Operations and Estimating staff in the development of design / engineering project budgets and cost for submittal to customers.
  • Responsible for all aspects of cost management, including estimating, funding, budgeting, forecasting, controlling, and reporting.
  • Manages invoices, purchase orders, contracts, and statements of work.
  • Establishes and executes a project communication plan, meeting facilitation; presentation, and delivery.
  • Demonstrated success in team leadership, stakeholder management, process adherence, ownership / commitment, learning agility, and risk management capabilities.
  • Proactively improves the project timeline through schedule management and progress tracking of schedule and budget.
  • Ensures project is delivered within approved budget, schedule, contingency and meets quality standards.
  • Engages team to identify all project risk develops mitigation strategies / plans and works to have strategies in place should they be needed and negotiates conflict resolution when needed between team members or solution owners
  • Utilizes motivation techniques to ensure project team reaches goals and milestones.
  • Works with design / engineering staff and operations in the management of agreed-upon design / engineering project budgets and costs.
  • Manages team to document the scope of design for customer review and ensures that all assumptions in design are documented to avoid risk.
  • Networks, establishes, and maintains customer relationships.
  • Plans, organizes, and staffs projects. Ensures that projects are completed safely, profitably, timely, of high quality, and according to customer expectations.
  • Promotes a positive Company Culture by fostering friendly and constructive employee relations.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
