Job Description :

The Sr. Consultant is responsible for assisting NextGen Healthcare clients in meeting their organizational goals and objectives.

Serving as the service-line owner with experience and working knowledge of the healthcare environment, including best practices in multiple specialties, healthcare organization types, and NextGen Solutions.

This role will work both independently, and as part of a multidisciplinary team, and are recognized as subject matter experts (SMEs) in the company's solutions, best practice configurations and workflows.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams including Solutions, Sales, and other Professional Services teams on various projects for customers depending on the Specialty area to determine customer needs and requirements.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders including client end-users, and internal cross-functional project teams to obtain information, translate and document requirements, analyze workflows, and identify risks and issues from the customer for the development and release of implementation delivery plans, system configurations, and client onboarding.
  • Provide direction, expectations, and requirements to project stakeholders on assigned projects and manage the development of deliverables across projects.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to develop best practices, recommendations, and process optimizations to continually improve work products and enhance value.
  • Influence and direct client work that includes reviewing business and outcome requirements and workflows, analyzing customer metrics to identify inefficiencies, and making recommendations for the implementation of best practices and process optimizations.
  • Discuss tools, training materials, how-to's and why's, review and report goals, and generating reports to measure progress.
  • Collect, analyze, and socialize client feedback to the appropriate project team to improve the client experience and satisfaction.
  • Provide escalation management expertise that proactively surfaces issues through the right avenues for quick, conclusive, resolution.
  • Create and socialize education material and courses for new implementation processes, functionality, service offerings, and strategies.
  • Mentor and guide Professional Service department team members in best practice implementation methodologies, ensuring quality outcomes on assigned projects.
  • Assists in delivering new functionality, service offerings, and cross-organizational strategies to new and existing team members.
  • Travel up to 75%.
  • Perform other duties that support the overall objective of the position.

Education Required :

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Health Informatics, Computer / Data Science, or any related field.
  • Complete continuing education programs and additional training related to this role as required by manager.
  • Or, any combination of education and experience which would provide the required qualifications for the position.

Experience Required :

  • 10+ years of experience in consulting and / or direct implementation experience with ambulatory health information systems.
  • 10+ experience managing process improvement or clinical / business transformation projects.
  • 10+ years of experience managing large healthcare clients and projects.

License / Certification Required :

  • NextGen NCP Certification within 6 months of employment
  • Maintain and renew certification.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :

Knowledge of : Extensive knowledge of specialty client needs related to reporting, clinical workflows, and practice management.

Change leadership techniques and organizational governance structures. Software life cycle. Client relationships and effective customer service methodologies.

SQL, SAS, or other database management tools. Knowledge and understanding of healthcare delivery including but not limited to the HITECH and MACRA legislation and related programs and regulations.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Business acumen.

Skill in : Thought leader and Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the establishment of processes, protocols, timelines, that are leveraged across the team by peers.

Project management, communications (verbal, written), presentation, organizational skills, time management, problem solving, conflict resolution, interpersonal skills, customer / client orientation, change management.

Ability to : Ability to adjust to rapidly changing priorities, multiple demands, and ambiguity. Ability to develop and deliver multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences with ability to actively listen to others and adjusts to fit the audience and the message.

Prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and multi-task while maintaining attention to detail. Ability to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work-related problems.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships through collaboration and respect. Deliver professionalism in a virtual environment with prompt communication, camera-on culture, appropriate personal presentation.

Ability to work in a team environment employing a hands-on approach with colleagues at all levels of the organization. Ability to mentor and informally guide junior employees to enable broader team success.

Build and manage relationships with key staff at customer sites to ensure client satisfaction. Ability to influence Broader PS / NextGen improvement / solution support.
