Contract Role
Location Albany, NY - Onsite for first 4 months, then up to 40% each 2 week pay period.
Length : 16 months March 2026
Overview :
The selected candidate will be a developer for the Client’s Modernization effort and provide support for maintenance activities.
Responsibilities :
- Provide programming duties for related applications.
- Develop and review detailed documentation for system and program change requirement including detail specifications documents.
- Assist and provide guidance through all phases of the project management life cycle.
- Develop unit test plans based on coding changes and user specifications.
- Conduct unit testing and debugging of all code changes in the development environment
- Coordinate the migration of all code changes (programs, procedures, etc.) from development environment into user test environment.
- Use distributed technologies including Java, DB2, XML and XQuery.
- Provide support, as needed, for defects and issue resolution.
- Ensure that defects and issues are addressed promptly based on priority.
- Facilitate and participate in meetings with Client’s customers.
- Communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, with management and users, and team members.
Requirements :
- 3-5+ years of applicable professional experience
- Candidate is able to work independently, without assistance.
Desired Skills :
- 3+ years of experience with J2EE technologies including JDBC, JSP and XML.
- 3+ years of experience developing, building, and testing Java EE applications using modern IDE’s, such as Eclipse, Netbeans, or IntelliJ.
- 2+ years of experience using J2EE frameworks such as Spring or struts.
- 1+ year of experience writing SQL statements for relational databases.
- 1+ year of experience in messaging technologies, such as MQ, JMS, Kafka.
- 1+ year experience developing with HTML, CSS and JavaScript
