McFarlin Stanford is currently on the market for an Operations Director within the landscaping industry. This role is located about an hour west of the Philadelphia area.
They are 100% on-site when not out visiting clients, promoting business, etc. They specialize in high end residential and commercial projects that include landscaping, hardscape, design, installation, maintenance, and some holiday installations.
For this role, they are looking for someone that has the ability to have constructive conversations with employees. Must be proficient in LMN software or something related.
Ability to develop KPI’s, P&L responsibilities, account and project management responsibilities, etc.
The Operations Director will be overseeing and managing all of the aspects of field operations which include communication with clients, training of employees, and fleet management.
This role requires someone with strong leadership skills to inspire and motivate teams. They will me managing a team of about 6 Foreman and a Project Manager that will be directly reporting to them.
Responsibilities
- Managing all operational costs, projects, and budgets to ensure profitability, targets, and achieve revenue goals
- Prepare and manage budgets and forecasts for the Operations department
- Communicate and collaborate with the sales team for a seamless handoff
- Ensure that all teams are ready, materials and equipment are on hand and ready prior to projects starting
- Lead, coach, train, and manage a team while holding them accountable for their actions and completing projects
- Project labor and manpower needs for busy seasons to complete all tasks
- Enforce a safe working environment and make sure everyone is up to date on any policy changes made
- Manage all inventory of materials and equipment including maintenance schedules and address needs
- Build strong client relationships and make sure deliverables meet and exceed expectations
- Resolve issues in a timely manner, address client concerns, etc.
- Provide feedback and constructive criticism to the team for continuous improvement
- Stay up to date on regulations, codes, and best practices within the industry
- Ensure compliance with permits, certifications, and train staff on DOT requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred
- 3+ years of landscape / hardscape or related industry operations management role
- Strong time management skills to ensure deadlines and targets are being met
- Proficient in budgeting, scheduling, and resource planning for smooth operations
- Knowledge of landscape / hardscape and horticulture materials and processes are preferred
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required
- Clean background check and drug screen
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule to meet operational needs
