Production Planner Assistant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Production Planning and Plant Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining production schedules that ensure the highest efficiency in plant operations while meeting customer demands and maintaining the highest standards of quality.

You will serve as the key liaison between our plant and broader planning community, ensuring smooth operations by coordinating production activities, communicating updates, and supporting various plant functions.

Key Responsibilities :

Develop and manage a comprehensive production schedule using Microsoft Dynamics AX, aligning with business processes and ensuring customer requirements are met.

Prepare and release the production schedule to the plant floor in a timely manner, while ensuring adherence to code dates, space constraints, and customer deadlines.

Maintain production forecasts in DAX to aid the Purchasing Department in strategic purchasing decisions.

Monitor and review master data setup (BOMs, Recipes, Resources, etc.) to align with production processes and accommodate any new or changed processes.

Provide continuous feedback to the manufacturing team, updating scheduling information (e.g., running rates, start / end times, material sequences, resources).

Act as the primary point of contact for the plant, connecting plant activities with the broader planning community and addressing local issues.

Communicate and execute any necessary changes to the production schedule in response to unplanned events.

Generate and distribute reports on customer demands and internal planning to support smooth business operations.

Collaborate with the Supply Network Planning team to ensure long-term planned orders reflect capacity constraints.

Order fluids (milk and cream) weekly to ensure plant schedules are supported.

Experience & Qualifications :

2+ years of experience in scheduling / planning, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.

Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX (DAX) is highly preferred.

Strong analytical and technical skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both plant and planning teams.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and the ability to maintain organized filing systems.

Self-motivated, results-oriented, with a strong initiative and work ethic.

Education & Experience :

Bachelor’s degree preferred, but a high school diploma with some college or equivalent experience will be considered.

Exceptional customer service skills, professional phone manner, and a team-oriented mindset.

Key Plant Responsibilities :

Schedule weekly fluid orders (milk and cream) to support production.

Work closely with Purchasing to ensure timely and accurate supply orders.

Assist with month-end procedures and attend weekly customer planning calls.

Input, close, and research production orders in DAX, ensuring accurate data management.
